In their Debut Album „Got Your Dancing Shoes“, the Freiburg Ska-Reggae Band The Nutty Boys present an exciting LP that goes beyond the limits.
Fifty minutes of variety in 11 songs, pure listening pleaure with a mix of ska, jazz and reggae called „urban offbeat“ by the band,  The Nutty Boys transcend borders of genre and glide with ease through various musical styles.

A good two years after their founding, The Nutty Boys present their first big long-player titled: „Got Your Dancing Shoes?“ The brash manner in which they handle various musical styles is the basis for what they call „urban offbeat“, building different sounds with a „big-city“ radiance on top of offbeat, the basis of Jamaican rhythm.
With 8 instrumental and 3 vocal titels The Nutty Boys put a clear emphasis on, and prove that instrumentals are as intoxicating and danceable as vocal pieces.

All tracks are packed with power and dynamic, bubbling with the pleasure of playing, full of surprise, and have thier own sound, that unique „nutty“ sound.
The album is also in itself unique because the band recorded live, seperate in different rooms but live and together nonetheless, keeping the music alive, furthering communication flow and setting energies free, all of which can be heard in the recordings themselves.
The perfect space and ambience of the Neuwerk Studios in Lahr contributed optimally to the creative work process A healthy mix of analogue and digital recording technique combined with the sound-aesthetics of engineer  André Horstmann give the album its own special charachter, all key elements in producing the direct, non-compromising, honest and down-to-earth listening pleasure this album has to offer. The instruments, clearly positioned in space with only minimal traces of reverb, speak directly to the listener.
