La Sra. Tomasa
La Sra. Tomasa have created their own signature style by breaking musical boundaries and combining a range of different influences and genres in an innovative way: By skillfully merging electronic and live instruments, they offer a fusion of latin flavored music – ranging from funk, reggae and hip hop to trap and drum ´n bass – respecting the latin musical traditions and infusing them with fresh new urban influences and electronic sounds.
This explosive mix is what has helped them build a rapidly growing fanbase both locally in Barcelona and the Iberian peninsula, as well as internationally. The aim of the project is to create something different and original, not only musically but visually as well (as they perform a group of 7 musicians on stage) in order to bring back the „soul“ of live music which can sometimes get lost in some modern heavily programmed tracks played by a lone DJ on stage. Their capacity to blend classic traditional sounds with modern production techniques is definitely one of the many keys to their success, allowing them to bring the best of both worlds (Accoustic and electronic) together in perfect musical harmony on stage. On top of that, their live performances are captivating and engaging – leaving every single person in the crowd screaming for more. They are clearly one of the most exciting and most exported young groups from Barcelona, with over 30 live performances all over Europe to date, and far more to come over the next few years.
They are currently making noise on the local scene with their „live sessions“ concept: A series of live performances, filmed and recorded live to be posted on Youtube, culminating with the „live sessions“ series shows by the end of the year (5 performances in Barcelona within 2 days in November, with 2 performances already sold out.)
