In May 2012 at HIFA Festival Harare, JAMARAM came across the ACOUSTIC NIGHT ALLSTARS who are a group of young, high-calibre singers. The result was an instantly perfect working cooperation with them.

In 2013 JAMARAM brought three of the ACOUSTIC NIGHT ALLSTARS over for a tour across Germany (watch the tourdocumentary on the DVD »ALMOST HITS«)

Finally, in summer 2014 it happened: With a big effort it was managed to finance flights to Germany and accommodation for six singers.

So here on this album you have various songs from different songwriters but they’ve been brought to life and recorded by everyone together. The usual reggae-sound was set aside. Instead, traditional African sounds mingle with soul, hiphop and swing.

For JAMARAM it’s been a wonderful experiment and a journey into a new mu- sical world. At the same time, it’s a testimony to friendship across borders and boundaries.
