interprets the traditional West African story of the great
snake “Miniyang Baa” in a new way. The song’s message is that you should not burn your bridges because you might need to cross them again in the future – You never know what will be tomorrow.
“You Never Know” features the voices of the Gambian griots Sambou Suso and Lamin Jobarteh from King Kora. In the song’s chorus, they sing about the great snake “Miniyang Baa” who seems to be an enemy to a village but turns out to be its helper in a time of need.
