With their new album LOVERS Al Jawala let go of all stylistic ballast, celebrating radical diversity and the pure lust for music.
From the archaic Al Jawala roots with virtuose Gypsy Saxophones, tribal Percussions and Didgeridoo, the band has come a long way to dancehall grooves, surf-guitar, tropical beats and psychedelic dub. But the greatest discovery is the voice of their saxophonist Steff Schimmer. With her singing words and messages begin to play an important role, opening up an entire new world for the quintet, that started as an instrumental line-up.
